Attention world wide beaders!

I'm very excited, as I've realized that I can achieve one of the goals on my 'bucket' list! :) ...will be taking a trip abroad to Iceland in May of this year, over my birthday...happy dance!!
Would love to hear from anyone who lives there, or has been there...travel tips, places to go, and of course, if you know of any bead shops to visit, would welcome that info too!  :)
Thanks!

2nd Annual Bead Horders Blog 2014

Hi,
Here are three pieces that I created for the 2nd Annual Bead Horders Blog Hop. In the first one I used a pretty teal and silver butterfly pendant with dyed shell, teal/black faceted rounds and gunmetal daisy spacers.

The second piece is made with matte and glossy orange coin shaped glass beads, dyed agate, gold toned filigree bead caps, black e-beads, black seed beads and orange faceted rodells...was not as happy with the way this one turned out...:)
The last one I did, I like best of all, practice must make perfect, hum? :)
This one is very simple, with pink ovals, with gold 'drizzle' on them and gold 'noodle' style tube spacers,...which I loved on sight! They are 'cut' in spots (don't know what the correct term is for this) and this gives them a wonderful glittery look which I really liked a lot!

I did create a couple of other pieces and promptly forgot to take pictures of them, as they sold much more quickly than I anticipated!
Hope you enjoy seeing what I did do and have already went to a couple of sites and viewed some of the lovely pieces that other participants created! Such talented people!!! Wow! Wonderful...:)
...well, put everyone here below, but couldn't figure out how to make the table smaller, to fit my blog...but doesn't really matter, as long as it works right?!? :)

2nd Annual Bead Hoarders Blog Hop!

Ready to go and can't wait! ....needed something new cause of the dark days that have descended upon us...the winter 'blahs' have hit me hard and this is just the ticket to help lift me up out of them! Yeah...:)
Will be looking though the ever growing (sigh) stash, to see what I can come up with...(dancing around the room, in spirit!)
Thank you, thank you Lori! ...for your willingness to host this event...if there is anything you need help with, let me know, ok?

Choosy Chicks Choose Chicklets Design Challenge Revel, August 3rd

Well, am glad that I was able to be included in the Choosy Chicks Choose Chicklets Design Challenge hosted by Jewel School Friends~, it was definitely a enjoyable one for me! Really love the beautiful colors of the beads. Want to thank Rita for allowing me to join in the challenge, as a late comer...:)
I decided to do something a little bit different, for me, so it did take some thought. I came up with the idea of putting the chicklet beads on ribbon...a medium that I don't often use and I really like the way it turned out.

Have already sold this piece, to one of my co-workers...she was thrilled to get it, she likes it very much! :)

Haberdashery Blog Hop Revel 8-2-14

Had to think about this one for a while...and hunt up buttons and such and then the buzzing in the brain began!!  Took some thought, but finally came up with a couple of designs that I think turned out pretty well...:)
Enjoyed the 'stretching' of the brain, it certainly was a challenge...hope you like what I did...
Thanks to our hostess, Melissa at Haberdashery

Dainty little earrings
Used raffia paper ribbon covered wire and wire wrapped white Turquoise rondels and Pink/Gold Picasso faceted rounds with three very old buttons for my focal in this piece. Don't know what the buttons are made of for sure, but think the centers are copper (although because of their age, they don't look 'coppery'), if you look at them closely, you'll see tiny silhouettes of what appears to be a bust of Cesar (at least I like to think so!)...cool, huh? :)

Added a magnetic clasp for easy on/off...

My quirky and fun take on working with 'notions'!

Fits comfortably on the wrist and expands to fit (most) all! :)

I used a stretchy shoelace, five lovely buttons that have silver filigree designs on them with tiny rhinestones in their centers and a scrap piece of purple tulle to finish it with...thought it turned out ok, this was definitely a challenge for me, as I've not used these types of materials much in my beading before now! When I took this one to work to show my co-workers, this was the one they liked...was amazed, as I wasn't as happy with the way this one turned out, as I was with the pink one...:)
